ABOUT BCC
THE TEAM
Each member of this talented group brings their own unique vision, creativity, and skills to our collective work.
Their dedication, passion and effort are the driving force behind each show, and their commitment to the art of dance is what allows us to reach the audience with exciting and impactful performances.
It is their collaboration and their love for dance that makes our company an inexhaustible source of inspiration and emotion for all who see us perform.
THE DANCERS
The BCC dancer acquires a versatility that goes beyond dancing, making him especially capable of rigorously interpreting the assigned role and at the same time assuming a personal role within the company.
Chosen for his technical and artistic training, the BCC dancer is today an independent artist who actively participates in the creation of all his projects, contributing a unique and recognized added value to them.

THE PROJECT
The Ballet Contemporani Catalunya sowed its first seed in November 2019, with a current and modern idea of promoting dance in a broad sense, delving into all its aspects, styles and abilities to communicate and express through the body and music.
Its raison d’être lies in converting dance and art into a clearly recognized tool for education and social well-being, starting from the very beginning a task of firm integration into the cultural fabric of Terrassa, and continuing with all those Catalan cities that welcome it and give full confidence in its project.
The BCC is today a community of professionals and people personally involved in a genuine project that would like to be a reference in Catalonia faithful to its creative potential and unquestionable talent.
Joining forces with public and private entities with similar objectives is today, under the vision of the BCC, the way to show here and everywhere our classical and contemporary cultural heritage through multidisciplinary shows, guaranteeing confidence in our professional artists, the perpetuity of traditions and their transformation over time, respecting modern values appropriate to each generation.
VALUES
We are committed to the creative potential and indisputable talent that we possess in our country, offering opportunities and full confidence in our professional artists
We show the importance of the union of Catalan cultural entities that allow the most effective achievement of common objectives.
We work to consolidate the trust of programmers in Catalonia, allowing us to provide the necessary viability and visibility to local projects on a persistent basis
We raise awareness, motivate and educate the general public to understand dance and the role of art as a tool for integration and social well-being
MISSION
We bring to light new original, innovative and genuine creations with a marked identity component that gives Catalonia a new benchmark.
In each production we show our cultural heritage, both historical and contemporary, ensuring its perpetuity and respect for traditions, but at the same time in accordance with modern values.
We return to the origins and raison d’être of dance, giving live music a main role as part of all its productions.
We offer a wide range of styles in our creations. Classical and contemporary dance take on a main role and there are no transgressive barriers between them, but harmony, complementarity and coexistence.
We open ourselves to new trends in dance and performing arts, giving Catalonia a recognized international image as well as the institutions that support it.
We show the importance of the union of Catalan cultural entities in order to commit to native projects and promote ambitious artistic results that allow the more effective achievement of common objectives.
- We strongly believe in the professionalism of the participating artists as a way to combat the precariousness of this sector in our country.
- We are present in educational circuits and audience creation on an ongoing basis with the aim of making art and culture an essential part of our lives.
- We collaborate and open ourselves to new ideas and proposals, offering our project as a tool for education, and improvement of well-being, integration and health.
RESIDENCES
Residencies are the main means of logistical support for the BCC project. Since August 2020, Ballet Contemporani has carried out all of its creations and rehearsals of shows in a variety of spaces and settings.
Public and private entities have given full confidence to each new creative project, getting involved and committing to hosting its premieres.
The city of Egara, the origin of the project, is established as the company’s main headquarters, hosting it and collaborating in all its productions over the course of 5 seasons.
